Diamond Star, CDSG’s predecessor, first embarked on its journey in the wheat flour business when it established its first mill in Mandalay, only capable of producing 1-ton per day, in 1980. Today, its mills in Yangon and Mandalay have a combined capacity of 1,160 tons per day, making it the largest flour mill and market-leading miller in Myanmar. It had taken the founders of Diamond Star almost four decades to build its market leading wheat flour business which remains the cornerstone of CDSG.

Since 2015, the wheat flour business has been operating under Lluvia Limited (“Lluvia”), a joint venture between CDSG and Mitsubishi Corporation. Lluvia is leveraging the expertise and experience of CDSG and Mitsubishi Corporation with the aim of becoming the leader in wheat flour as well as other food businesses in Myanmar

Presently, Lluvia’s Diamond Star and Rocket are leading wheat flour brands with over 50% market share in Myanmar.

Lluvia is also distributing baking equipment and baking ingredients such as shortening, margarine, cake gel, flavors and yeasts. These ingredients are supplied to our flour customers such as bakeries, noodle factories, confectionery factories and HORECAs across Myanmar.

Lluvia strives to become a one-stop solution provider for our flour customers by not only supplying them a wide range of ingredients, as mentioned above, but also providing various technical assistance to our customers.
